The New York Post never shies away from an opportunity to be creative and entertain their readers, with Monday being no exception as they created one of the greatest headlines in sports history. Mets starting pitcher Bartolo Colon picked up his eighth victory of the season on Sunday as his team defeated the Marlins and while Colon wasn’t perfect on the mound, yielding three runs in seven innings, he added an RBI double to bump his average to .143.
It was his first double of the season but his third RBI and it broke an early 1-1 tie game. It proved to be a massive hit, with New York winning 4-3. As expected, the New York Post reacted to Colon’s exploits but did so in such a fantastic fashion that must be celebrated:
