Toronto Blue Jays infielder Munenori Kawasaki won’t be on hand for MLB’s All-Star festivities this week, which is too bad considering he’s certainly got one of the best personalities in all of baseball. The Japanese shortstop has plenty of fans simply because of his hilarious interviews alone and Kawasaki submitted his latest gem this past weekend in Toronto.
Kawasaki joined SportsNet Canada’s Barry Davis for a short interview to discuss the recent leg cramps that have kept him out of action recently. For most players, this would just be a boring, run-of-the-mill update on a minor injury…but, alas, nothing is ever boring with Munenori.
I’m not even sure if he meant to be funny, but his pronunciation of “cramps” sounds a whole lot like “crap” – which made for some pretty hilarious responses. He also shared his secret to recovering from cramps: Eating lots of bananas, because “monkey never cramps.”
