Some MLB PED users are quicky forgotten, while other reputations are forever destroyed. Boston Red Sox pitcher John Lackey finally provided a blunt opinion from a current player, trying his best to ensure everyone remembers the cheaters.

Lackey was shelled in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader against Baltimore, who received a 5-for-5 showing from Nelson Cruz.

Yes, the Orioles outfielder already served a 50-game suspension for his role in the Biogenesis debacle, but Lackey doesn’t care. After being asked about Cruz during a postgame media session, he issued the following statement.

I’m not even going to comment on him. I’ve got nothing to say about him. There are some things that I would like to say, but I’m not going to. You guys forget pretty conveniently about stuff.

Regardless of your opinion of admitted PED users, you must appreciate Lackey’s willingness to speak candidly about the destructive epidemic still affecting baseball many years after the so-called steroid era supposedly ended.
