Joe Maddon felt it was necessary to wear some protective gear to a press conference Friday.
Before the Cubs’ game against the Phillies, two media members apparently got into somewhat of a spat. Maddon, easing the supposed tension a bit, joked about the situation by wearing a catcher’s mask to the press conference.

Well, that’s a first.
Unfortunately for Maddon and the Cubs, they went on to lose to the lowly Phillies 5-3.
