The Cleveland Indians completed a three-game sweep over the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday after winning 11-10 on a balk in the bottom of the 13th inning. After intentionally walking Yan Gomes to load the bases, Al Alburquerque, who had replaced Phil Coke in the inning, was called for a balk after he ever so slightly moved his head and glove while facing Ryan Raburn.
The Tigers had entered this series with the Indians having won 11 straight on the road and had built up a large gap between first and second in the AL Central. But having losing three in a row to the Tribe, Detroit now only has a 5.5 game lead over the White Sox.
