40. Mike Pelfrey, Starting Pitcher
Status: Re-signed by the Minnesota Twins to a two-year deal worth $11 million.
Take a look at Pelfrey’s numbers last year (5-13, 5.19 ERA) and you’ll wonder why he made this list, but we had to start the countdown somewhere. Big Pelf has been a solid pitcher over the course of his career, winning 15 games in 2010, and can still be a useful asset for the backend of a club’s rotation.
