In the fourth inning of Monday night’s Giants-Mets game, Ehire Adrianza ripped a foul ball into the fence where it was retrieved by a fan in a plaid shirt. In order to secure the ball, the fan had to push the ball out of the grating. Unfortunately for him, when he did so, umpire Doug Eddings took the baseball from the man and threw it further into the crowd.
Why? Who knows. Maybe Eddings thought that the fan was offering him the ball or something.
Luckily for the fan, he was able to get another foul ball at the game thanks to a Giants employee.
