Dustin Pedroia will be sticking around Boston for quite a while. Rob Bradford of WEEI is reporting that Pedroia and the Red Sox have agreed to a seven-year $100 million dollar contract. The contract will keep Pedroia in Beantown untill 2021. Pedroia will be 37 when it is finished. The contract also contains a full no-trade clause.
Pedroia and Red Sox have agreed in principle on extension. Starts in 2015 goes to ’21. Comes down to approximatey 7 years for $100 million

While this move provides some stability for Red Sox second base, the team will have quite a crowded infield for the next few seasons. Shortstop Jose Iglesias has been hitting the tar off the ball. Super-prospect Xander Bogaerts has big-league potential, but it will still be a few seasons before he’s a consistent presence in the Red Sox infield.
