Bad news for Dodgers folks across the world as pitcher Chad Billingsley who was injured in his last start now will undergo Tommy John surgery ending his season. Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reported the need for surgery first. Billingsley had just been placed on the DL for a sore elbow.
According to Eye on Baseball:
Billingsley will undergo the procedure on Wednesday. As a consequence, he’ll miss the remainder of the 2013 season and part of 2014.
Billingsley, 28, has a 3.00 ERA in two starts this season. For his career, he’s pitched to a 3.65 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 2.11 K/BB ratio across parts of eight major-league seasons, counting this one.
