The Chicago Cubs ended a mini 2-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over the Nationals on Thursday night in a game that ended with a rare pickoff play. In a play that we only see a handful of times during the season, let alone to record the final out in a 1-run game, Cubs catcher David Ross sniped Nationals pinch hitter Clint Robinson off first base, sending Washington to their fifth-straight loss in doing so.
Not only does Ross nail Robinson as he drifted off first base, but his enthusiastic reaction is almost as good as the throw itself:
And if you look really closely to Ross’ left, you can actually see the moment in which this Nationals fan wondered why in the hell he paid a fat wad of cash only to see his team drop their fifth-straight in depressing fashion:
