The Cubs and White Sox will be honoring greats Ernie Banks and Minnie Minoso this year when the two teams square off in July and again in August.
“Mr. Cub” Ernie Banks and “Mr. White Sox” Minnie Minoso are legends with each of their respective teams, and it is only right to show them some love when the two teams meet in the Crosstown Cup Series. On July 12 at Wrigley Field, the Cubbies will be rocking their 1958 throwback uniforms featuring the number 14. On the other side of town, the White Sox will be wearing their throwbacks Aug. 14 at U.S. Cellular Field with the number 9. According to the Cubs Facebook page, both teams will wear throwback road uniforms on the corresponding dates.
