There isn’t much worse than first-day jitters. Chase Headley, recently acquired by the N.Y. Yankees in a trade with the San Diego Padres, had to be dealing with some nervousness when he arrived at Yankee Stadium last night. He didn’t get to the ballpark when the rest of his teammates did. Instead, Headley arrived during the team’s game against the Rangers.
It was a pretty cool scene — watching Headley meet his new teammates and coaches in the dugout on live TV in the middle of a game.
I mean, just look at how awkward and nervous Headley looks:
It gets even better, though. Because, in the bottom of the 14th inning, Headley drove home the winning run with a walk-off single.
I’m guessing Headley probably didn’t have much trouble making any new friends after the game.
