After his walk-off home run early Tuesday morning, in a game that was rain delayed until eleven o’clock, Atlanta Braves’ first baseman Freddie Freeman said in his interview that he and several teammates would be spending the night at Turner Field.
The slumber party-goers must have watched too many movies and had too much popcorn as the Braves were held hitless for six innings by Mets pitcher Matt Harvey, who undoubtedly would have rejected his teammates’ proposal of a post-game round of truth or dare and opted for a good night’s sleep instead.
The Mets and Braves have played three games in twenty-fours with the conclusion of Tuesday night’s game. The Mets stole both games of the doubleheader with stellar starts from Matt Harvey and Zach Wheeler who made his MLB debut.
