The Cardinals-Brewers feisty rivalry is quite underrated yet always prevalent, especially when both teams are competing for the division title and both teams send a heap of players to the All-Star Game.
The rivalry tension was in full swing as Cardinals manager Mike Matheny tapped his own Adam Wainwright to start the game, pitching to the fan-voted starting catcher Jonathan Lucroy of the Brewers.
After the Cards pitcher was lit up for three AL runs in the 1st inning, St. Louis fans turned to Twitter to vent their frustration…against Lucroy.
Dad & I both agree that Waino needs to catch Lucroy off guard & nail him in the back with a fastball.

Lucroy does not deserve to catch for Wainwright

I blame all of this on Lucroy. You think Molina would let Waino give up two hits to start the game? Nope.

Good to see Lucroy screw over Waino #averageatbest

Lucroy just called a horrible first inning for Waino. #BlameLucroy

It’s because Yadi isn’t catching #BlameLucroy
