Los Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon is one of the biggest stars in Major League Baseball, winning the Silver Slugger Award twice in his career. But in a recent interview, he revealed that baseball is not necessarily a top priority in his life.
As the Los Angeles Angels head into spring training, Anthony Rendon admitted that he views professional baseball as something he simply does “to make a living.”
“It’s never been a top priority for me,” Rendon told reporters, according to The Athletic. “This is a job. I do this to make a living. My faith, my family come first before this job. So if those things come before it, I’m leaving.”

That doesn’t necessarily mean that it isn’t one of his priorities, however. He does understand that it is his career, and he values that.
“Oh, it’s a priority for sure, because it’s my job,” Rendon said. “I’m here, aren’t I?”
But that doesn’t mean he necessarily wanted to be there for the interview session on Monday morning.
“I don’t want to talk to you guys at 7 in the morning, or whatever time it is,” Rendon said.
All in all, those are some pretty shocking comments from Rendon.
