Alex Avila seems to take the most damage and hurt out of any catcher in baseball, and Sunday’s game against the Red Sox was just another chapter in his painful MLB career. Avila took a foul tip off the bat of Shane Victorino straight into his junk during the fifth inning of Sunday’s series finale between the Tigers and Sox, and it didn’t look like too much fun. I have to imagine every guy watching at home winced in pain just watching this happen.
