New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone has been thrown out of many games throughout his career as a manager in Major League Baseball, and he probably deserved to be thrown out of most of those games. But he certainly didn’t deserve to be ejected in Monday afternoon’s game.
During the first inning of Monday afternoon’s game against the Oakland Athletics, Yankees manager Aaron Boone got into a bit of an argument with the umpires after A’s leadoff hitter Esteury Ruiz was awarded first base after he was hit by a pitch. Home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt clearly did not want to hear it.
“You’re not yelling at me. I did what I was supposed to do an checked. I’m looking for him to get hit by the pitch. Got anything else to say, you’re gone, okay?” Wendelstedt said.
"I don't care who said it. You're gone!"
Not usually how that works but at least we got an awesome hot mic situation out of this Aaron Boone ejection pic.twitter.com/EX2xUsjtKA

Boone took the warning and remained silent, but Wendelstedt apparently mistook heckling from a fan in the stands as Boone and threw the Yankees manager out of the game.
Understandably, Boone was furious, quickly telling the umpires “I didn’t say anything!” But Wendelstedt stuck to the decision anyway, saying “I don’t care who said it. You’re gone!”
“What do you mean you don’t care?” Boone said. “I did not say a word.”
It’s certainly one of the more unique ejections we’ve seen in the game.
