Mets fans were more than familiar with Jeurys Familia before the 2015 season opened, as the 25-year-old Dominican Republic native recorded a 2.21 ERA in 76 appearances for the club last season, his first full season in the bigs. As of Monday, he currently boasts a 1.44 ERA and has converted 15 of 16 save opportunities for team that many weren’t expecting to be in NL East contention come June.
