David Letterman received a fantastic tribute from his racing team on Sunday morning.
The newly retired Late Show host found his caricature plastered on his racing team’s very own Indianapolis 500 car. Letterman loved the gesture and he praised it with self-deprecating humor that has long been his calling card.
“With everything that’s happened, it’s the highlight of my career,” Letterman said. “It’s crazy it’s the Indianapolis 500. Regrettable my face, but also my name on that car. It’s just delightful.”
The car was not the only tribute that Letterman’s racing team had in store for him. Crew members also wore t-shirts with Letterman’s caricature on the front and a pretty great Top 10 list on the back.
