Saturday Night Live began their 39th season by having Aaron Paul star in several meth-inspired skits. The Breaking Bad star channeled his inner Jesse Pinkman to tell a story about his friend who could have benefited from Obamacare during President Obama’s (Jay Pharoah). “I had this friend and he got sick. Like, cancer sick. But because there wasn’t Obamcare, he couldn’t afford treatments. So he was like, backed into a corner,” Paul said. Then Obama added, “And keep in mind – this man was a teacher with a family.” Jesse from New Mexico then continued, “So, he did what any of us would have done. He started cooking meth. And soon it wasn’t just meth. It was murder. And not regular murder. Like—he blew half a guy’s face off.”
Paul also briefly starred in a hilarious advertisement for E-Meth, like an electronic cigarette, but for meth users.
Later during Weekend Update Paul played a methhead nephew of Drunk Uncle (Bobby Moynihan) who is panicking because he needs to watch Breaking Bad. Paul tells Weekend Update anchor Seth Meyers, “Hey Seth. I got a knock knock joke for you.” To which drunk uncle interrupts him by saying, “No! I am the one who knock knocks,” referencing one of Walter White’s all-time great speeches.
