Over the weekend, golf superstar Scottie Scheffler was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer at the PGA Championship at Valhalla after a traffic-related incident. His arrest was the biggest story of the tournament, and after he was officially eliminated, Tiger Woods offered his reaction to the shocking incident.

Though Tiger Woods did not have a lot to say about the whole situation, he did say that it was “unfortunate” and he hopes that everything players out okay as the whole process continues to play out.

“Unfortunate. That’s all I can say. It was an unfortunate incident and I don’t know what has played out since then, but hopefully everything works out,” Woods said about the Scheffler incident according to Golf Magic.

Despite his arrest, Scheffler was able to return to Valhalla in time for the second round of the tournament – he claims that he actually stretched out in his jail cell – but he ultimately was not a contender for the championship in the tournament as he finished the weekend with a score of five-under 66, well behind the leader.

Woods, meanwhile, was unable to make the cut at the event, finishing with a score of +7 at the PGA Championship.
