This week, PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan and player directors from the tour’s policy board traveled to the Bahamas for a meeting about a potential alliance with LIV Golf. And it sounds like Tiger Woods was also in attendance.
Monahan and the player directors met with Yasir Al-Rumayyan, who runs Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, which has primarily funded LIV Golf and now seeks a partnership with the PGA Tour to re-unify professional golf. And according to flight trackers, Tiger Woods appeared to be in attendance, as well.
“According to @radaratlas2, jets owned by the PGA Tour and SSG’s John Henry just left for the Bahamas. Tiger Woods’ plane and one registered to Aramco/PIF are already there,” golf columnist Eamon Lynch said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Monahan confirmed the meeting but did not give too many details about what was discussed or who was involved in those discussions. But it does seem like Woods was one of the players who had a seat to the talks.
It will obviously be interesting to see whether or not the PGA Tour can work out an alliance with LIV Golf that would unify professional golf once again, but it’s pretty clear that Woods is doing his part to work out a deal with LIV Golf.
