Donald Trump and Joe Biden traded barbs over their golf games at last week’s presidential debates.
Now, BetsOnline has released odds that show what an official oddsmakers thinks about a hypothetical matchup on the links.
BetsOnline lists Trump favored to win the match with odds of -3300, or 1/33. As Newsweek mentioned, that means you’d have to bet $330 on Trump in order to win $10, with a payout of $340.
Biden’s odds are much, much worse.
Biden is listed at +1200 or 12/1, meaning you’d win $120 if you bet $10, with a total payout of $130.
BetOnline also released odds on a “long drive contest” between the two presidential candidates. Trump received -2500 or 1/25 odds. Biden, by contrast, received +1000 or 10/1 odds.
Those odds would seem to back Trump’s boasts during the debate.
“I just won two club championships—not even senior, two regular club championships,” Trump said last Thursday.
“To do that, you have to be quite smart, and you have to be able to hit the ball a long way. And I do it. He doesn’t do it. He can’t hit a ball 50 yards. He challenged me to a golf match; he can’t hit a ball 50 yards.”
Biden challenged Trump to “have a driving contest” with Trump.
The president went on to say, “I got my handicap when I was vice president down to a six. By the way, I told you before, I’m happy to play golf with you if you carry your own bag. Think you can do it?”
“Let’s make this golf match happen STAT!!!!” Donald Trump wrote on Twitter, the social media platform currently marketed as X.
“I’ll bet everything I have on it on my father. Any takers after watching this tonight??? Didn’t think so!!!”
