Former American president Donald Trump is facing major court action in Democrat-controlled New York.
New York Attorney General Letitia James alleges that the Trump Organization, under the direction of Trump and his adult children, inflated financial assets like golf courses and hotels to defraud insurance companies and obtain favorable loans while building their real estate empire.
Trump took the stand in his own defense on Monday and clashed with Judge Arthur Engoron while trying to educate the masses about Aberdeen, Scotland.
“Aberdeen is the oil capital of Europe. Aberdeen is a very rich place,” Trump said while speaking on a tangent. “It’s an incredible piece of land, and it may be the greatest golf course ever built.
“It’s one of the greatest pieces of land I’ve ever seen.”
Judge Engoron, who has already ruled Trump engaged in some fraud, cut the former president off, saying his comments were “irrelevant.”
He then pleaded with Trump’s lawyers to “control their client.” Judge Engoron has already fined Trump a total of $15,000 for twice violating his gag order during the trial.
If convicted, Trump could be barred from doing business in New York and forfeit several of his most iconic properties.
Trump, like all other Americans, is innocent until proven guilty.
