We hesitate to accuse Russell Wilson of being a one-upper, but when it comes to Robert Griffin III, that’s pretty much what he is — well, at least when it comes to on-field performance and handing out Christmas presents. The good news for Griffin, though, is that he can sleep at night knowing he didn’t have to spend approximately 1% of his 2013 salary on video game systems for his teammates (RGIII is making $1.35 million this season, compared to Wilson’s $526,000).
However, if you connect the CenturyLink Field dots — Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen owns the Seahawks and a share of Xbox-sponsored Seattle Sounders FC, which both call the Clink home — it’s entirely possible Wilson’s generous gift was “on the house” anyway.
