The Miami Heat have acquired possibly the most sought-after free agent on the market in Ray Allen. Allen’s agent Jim Tanner told ESPN.com. The news will surely cause an uproar in Boston, but with players teaming up more than ever nowadays, it comes as no surprise to most.
The defending champs will now have a solid core in LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and now, Ray Allen. It is still unsure whether or not they will have Mike Miller for next season, who suffered from back and foot problems throughout the course of the 2011-12 season. This news might be just the thing to keep him from returning for one more season – or maybe it will entice him to stay and just ride the bench to another championship. Time will tell.

No official deal has been released, but it is assumed Allen will sign for the Heat’s mid-level exception of $3.09 million per year. The Celtics were prepared to offer double that number, but Allen and his agent have decided the best option for him is to join Miami next season.
