Following the Washington Nationals beat the Cincinnati Reds 8-1 on Thursday night, sideline reporter Julie Alexandria took a very unexpected Gatorade shower courtesy of a celebration bucket meant for Gio Gonzalez. Julie was working her very first game for MASN, and she handled the situation like a seasoned veteran. Gio was absolutely deserving of his portion of the Gatorade shower as he only allowed one hit in eight innings propelling the Nats to their 11th win of the season.
That could surely not happen again, right? Wrong. On Friday night Julie was treated to her second Gatorade bath in just 24 hours. Julie was on the field following the game to interview Jordan Zimmerman who somehow pitched a second straight no-hitter for the Nationals. It took about 30 seconds for Zimmerman’s teammates Drew Storen and Ryan Mattheus to try and sneak up with a bucket of Gatorade for the ace, and then the magic happened. Check out how poor Julie got doused for a second day in a row in one of the stranger coincidences you will ever see. She handled the unexpected shower like a pro, just as she did 24 hours previous. Rough first two days on the job. The Nats beat the Reds 1-0.
If this happens three times in a row, there is something definitely fishy happening.
