Cornerback Isaiah Rodgers missed the entire 2023 NFL season while serving a suspension for gambling. But now he’s been reinstated, and it sounds like he’s learned from his mistake.
Isaiah Rodgers signed with the Philadelphia Eagles following his reinstatement, and during a recent press conference he made it clear that he is ready to move on after he “made a mistake” and “did my time.”
“I made a mistake, and I did my time,” Rodgers said in a video from NBC Sports Philadelphia. “Just being back around a great team and a great culture of guys and just finally getting that locker environment back into my heart feels good.”
While he was undoubtedly frustrated, Rodgers made it clear that he does understand why he was punished from the league.
“Rules are rules, and they are there for a reason,” Rodgers said. “So, if you break them, you get your consequences. If you don’t, you continue to be great. I think that’s one thing everybody should learn [from him].”
Rodgers will likely feel like he has something to prove this upcoming season after he spent an entire year away from the game. We’ll have to see how he performs.
