President Obama emphasized our personal investment in innovation during his State of the Union Address. Although I don’t necessarily agree with the President on certain issues, he’s right. I firmly believe creativity drives our society and economy. We’re a group of innovators; most other countries are imitators. That being said however, we, the people of the United States, need to look to our bordering neighbor, Mexico, for some inspiration.
Just the other day, Mexican soldiers seized a giant, 9-foot tall catapult that Mexican drug smugglers were using to launch packages of pot over the border into Arizona. Genius. The catapult is capable (assuming they haven’t dismantled it) of flinging over 4 pounds of weed sky high. Surveillance video captured the activity (see video below) and shows us that if you put your mind to something, you can do it. Now go out there America and build your own catapult!
Oh and the smugglers never got caught. The Mexican Army seized the catapult, an SUV, and 45 pounds of green plant.
