This season the NHL has enacted a rule that prohibits players from removing their helmets prior to engaging in a fight. What they didn’t account for is what took place in tonight’s Islander-Devil pre-season game.
Islanders’ enforcer Brett Gallant and Devils’ enforcer/hockey thinker Krys Barch exposed a really obvious loophole in the NHL’s new rule by removing each other’s helmets.
It was actually quite an adorable hockey moment. Both were kicked out of the game after their third fight, because fighting the same person in one game is stupid and an automatic ejection.
