Good morning, campers! Last week capped a losing week for Big Skeezy, and by “losing” we mean “winning” yet still mean “losing” as far as weight goes. He had a pretty exciting week, hitting a few lovely venues and even flying up to San Francisco to do some next-level stuff. Would he be able to top that this week or would he get hit in the face with a 4×4 of weight gain? Let’s break it down, shall we?
This week was decidedly less hectic than the week before, that’s for sure. It started the same as all my weeks tend to: with a good foot forward and my eyes on the prize. Lately, however, it’s been slow going for me and, because instant gratification is never fast enough for me, I haven’t exactly been doing everything exactly as I should be. That’s not to say I haven’t been exercising and eating (mostly) right, but rather that I have been taking liberties the last couple of weeks that I wouldn’t have when this was all so fresh and new. If I want a taco, I eat a taco…or four tacos like I did on Sunday night. Thursday night was spent out with the gang having more drinks than I probably should have. Saturday was sushi, which isn’t too terribly bad for me, but still not ideal. Otherwise I ate as well as can be, consuming salads and the like. I still drink water like it’s going out of style. I still get my exercise like I have been, though that certainly needs a jolt.
It feels like I’ve lost my stride a bit lately, as evidenced by my incredible slowdown as far as the weight loss goes. My body, however, still seems to be transforming despite the recent near stand still. Things fit differently to this day and I think it’s almost time to go pants shopping again, which is pretty cool.
So here we are, very much on the downhill burn towards the end of the year. It’s nearly October for crying out loud and I still haven’t hit that 100 pound mark. When I awoke this morning and weighed myself (no change from last week, information I am burying here for those of you who like to skip to the end and see how I did – you know who you are) I knew that it was time to do something. I needed to take command of this thing and, instead of my body telling me that it’s only going to lose/gain one or two pounds a week that it will do as I say, and we will overcome.
That being said, I’ve devised a new plan for this week. A new friend of mine who we’ll call “Brittany” made a few suggestions to me last week that I am going to put into effect this week. One of them was to get a trainer, which I will at some point I’m sure. The others were some exercise tips to shock the body (stairmaster, here I come) and some interesting food tips. This week I embark on a test that will certainly be a change for me. No red meat, no dairy, purely fruits, vegetables and some fish. Yikes.
So here we go. Today is the first day of the rest of the Big Skeezy Challenge.
