Following his arrest Wednesday morning, former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was arraigned in a North Attleboro court, where he was brought up on six charges, including first-degree murder in the death of 27-year old acquaintance Odin Lloyd. He pleaded not guilty to all six charges.
The prosecution stated that they believe Hernandez “orchestrated Lloyd’s execution” and revealed several shocking pieces of evidence they gathered in their investigation, including Hernandez’s own home surveillance camera showing him walking around his house with a gun after the murder, then disposing of the gun.
A shell casing was also reportedly found in Hernandez’s rental car that matched shell casings found at the scene.
Hernandez was reportedly angry with Lloyd over comments the victim made a few nights earlier at a nightclub. Hernandez, with a gun in hand, reportedly told a third party witness that he couldn’t trust Lloyd anymore.
Texts were exchanged between Hernandez and Lloyd and the two agreed that they needed to meet up to have a discussion. Video evidence reportedly shows that Hernandez and Lloyd getting into a car together at 2:32 a.m. the morning of the murder.
Hernandez reportedly disconnected his surveillance camera for six to eight hours after the murder was committed and exchanged his rental car for another vehicle the next day.
After hearing from both the prosecution and the defense, the judge denied bail.
Certainly doesn’t look good for the tight end.
