With the NBA season set to kick off tonight, Nike has unveiled the three sneakers that their biggest signature stars will wear to celebrate their season openers.
LeBron will wear a “cork” version of his new LeBron 13. Unlike past LeBrons that utilized cork as a main component of the upper, the LeBron 13 “Opening Night” contains its use of cork to the tongue and the back tab.
Kobe will be wearing a very team appropriate Kobe X Elite High in yellow and black. The colorway has always been a popular one in the Kobe sneaker catalog.
Kevin Durant has the most interesting design of the three. Instead of looking to past designs for its inspiration, KD’s “Opening Night” sneaker is a mashup of the Oklahoma City and the Washington DC/Virginia/Maryland skylines.
LeBron will debut his shoe tonight against the Bulls. KD and Kobe will debut their “Opening Night” sneakers tomorrow. Fans of the shoes will have to be patient if they want to cop these pairs as they won’t be available for purchase until November 11th.
