August is just around the corner and it’s a good month for sneakers. Yesterday, we previewed the Air Jordans that will be released next month. Today, we’re taking a look at some of the best sneakers that Nike says they will be releasing in the coming month (so far). Without further ado:
August 2nd
KD VII Action Red/Metallic Silver

Hype Level: 8 – Kevin Durant’s new signature model gets the all-red treatment in an official colorway. And while all-red sneakers have been trendy as of late, there’s no denying that the combination of the colorway, Kevin Durant’s namesake and KD VII’s relative newness will make for a very popular sneaker.
Brooklyn Projects x Nike SB Dunk High ‘Paparazzi’
Price: TBA
Hype Level: 7 – Collaborations will always have a nice exclusivity cache attached to them. Available exclusively at Brooklyn Projects stores and brooklynprojects.com, this Nike SB Dunk High features reflective 3M on the upper and red velvet around the collar to evoke the red carpet and the flashing lights of the paparazzi. It’s a great looking shoe and is guaranteed to be fairly limited.
August 16th
Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low White/Wolf Grey-Black

Hype Level: 9 – Inspired by Beethoven, this shoe has all the makings of an instant sell-out. The white/wolf-grey-black is incredibly clean and the low-top conversion of the Kobe 9 Elite model is perfect for those that didn’t like the high top iteration of the shoe. The Kobe 9 may be on its way out soon but don’t sleep on these if you can afford the $200 price tag.
Nike KD VII Base Grey/Hyper Punch-Light Magnet Grey

Hype Level: 6 – The consolation prize if one wasn’t able to get their hands on the “Action Red” KD VII’s from earlier in the month. Nicknamed the “Calm Before the Storm” edition, this one may get overlooked due to the aforementioned KD VII release and the fact that the Kobe 9 Elite Low releases on the same day as the “Calm Before the Storm.”

Nike Air Foamposite One Premium Black/Anthracite

Hype Level: 9 – Nike is taking a major risk by wrapping the popular Foamposite One model in suede for the first time but they’ve mitigated that risk by unleashing it in an all-black colorway. While it may be correct to question if something can be called a Foamposite when it has a suede upper, the Foamposite One is just as well known for its iconic silhouette and the combination of the Foamposite model and all black everything should sell well.
