The Pittsburgh Penguins unveiled a new third jersey for the upcoming season on Friday, and the new alternates are very similar to the sweaters that the team used to wear in the 80s. The new third goes back to the black and yellow color scheme that the Penguins used for decades prior to switching to more of a gold look in the early 2000s.
The thirds are pretty fantastic and I wouldn’t be surprised if the team eventually went back to this style as their primary full-time in the near future. These babies, a white version and maybe a yellow alternate would be a huuuuuuge upgrade from their current primary look.
