The University of Maryland has announced a brand new 10-year extension with Under Armour, who have produced some unique uniforms for the school over the last handful of years. They didn’t wait too long to unveil the latest interesting digs, revealing these patriot threads that the Terrapins will be wearing when they take on West Virginia this Saturday.

This weekend, the Terrapin football team will take the field in a historically inspired uniform that pays homage to the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Baltimore at Fort McHenry and the Star Spangled Banner. (via)

The unis feature the lyrics to the “Star Spangled Banner” on the helmet and the jersey’s sleeves, as well as feature a American-flag emblem in the shape of Fort McHenry on the lids. Coincidentally, the shape of McHenry also resembles that of a turtle. Pretty sweet.
