Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas should be campaigning for more money to be spent on education, especially for American history. The congresswoman was speaking to the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday where she made an appalling error. Lee made this historic faux pas, “We have lasted some 400 years operating under a constitution that clearly defines what is constitutional and what is not.” For those not aware that this is a major problem, the founding fathers signed the Constitution in Philadelphia on September 17, 1787. To be fair Lee, who is a person with major power in our nation, was only off by 173 years. So based on Lee’s history-changing revelation the Constitution was signed only seven years after the English build the settlement in Jamestown, Virginia and six years before the Mayflower arrived in what is now Massachusetts. Talk about revisionist history.
