Ryan Wood is a sophomore at West Forsyth High School who was given only a month to live after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called burkitts lymphoma. But, due to the efforts of family and friends, Ryan’s story made its way to NBA all-star point guard Chris Paul.
With the hashtag #PrayForRyan, Ryan’s story spread and has now been retweeted over 8,000 times. When Chris Paul, a West Forsyth High alumni, saw the tweets that were being sent his way, he took action. Paul has teamed up with the Make-A-Wish foundation to send Ryan and his family on a trip to Key West, Florida.
From News 2:
The representative from Make-A-Wish told News 2 they put a rush on Ryan’s wish and it was the fastest granted wish that she’s ever seen.
Then on Monday, NBA star Chris Paul and the CP3 Foundation offered to adopt Ryan’s wish to go to Key West with his family. That means the foundation will be covering the cost of his wish.
