Last month, the NBA announced that it would be offering fans the opportunity to purchase single-game telecasts during the upcoming season.
On Wednesday, the league announced the new price structure for the service. For the price of $6.99, fans can now purchase single game telecasts of NBA basketball.
The NBA will also offer a team package for one team’s entire slate of games for $119.99.
Basically, being an out-of-market basketball fan just became a lot less annoying and potentially less expensive. Fans of out-of-market teams previously had to buy the NBA’s League Pass (which the NBA will sell for $199.99 this year) if they wanted to watch their favorite basketball franchise.
Per ESPN, these are the carriers who will be able to offer the single-game pay-per-view experience:
Fans will be able to watch the game on television if they have a carrier that gets NBA League Pass — DirecTV, Dish, AT&T, Comcast, Verizon, Time Warner and Cox, among them — or on broadband for computers, tablets and mobile devices.
This is pretty great news, especially if one is a fan of a team that doesn’t get a lot of national attention (which, let’s be real, is basically more than half the league).
