The Orioles-White Sox game on Wednesday will go down as one of the most unique events in sports history, with not one single fan in attendance. The game was still broadcasted on television and MLB.com and media members were present, but the environment was unlike any other in MLB history.
The creepy-like silence at Camden Yards in Baltimore more closely resembled that of a quietly respectful PGA Tour event, thus leading broadcaster Gary Thorne to channel his inner Jim Nantz Masters voice for a few moments in calling the at-bat of Adam Jones:
