The Late Show with David Letterman sent their intern Todd to the NBA All-Star Weekend to have him interview/troll various pros at the event.
Sure, Todd seemed to be looking for punishment. His attempts to touch LeBron James were batted down by James’ handlers. He made himself into a basketball hoop and got hit in the face by a basketball thanks to Wesley Matthews. Scottie Pippen refused to say that Todd was cooler than Adam Silver (even if Todd was on a dirt bike jumping over fire).
Still, his interaction with Kevin Durant probably took the cake for cringe-worthiness. KD ended up treating his interactions with Todd as if he were a rather bothersome nuisance.
Todd: Who’s a sexier Van Gundy: Stan or Jeff?
KD: I don’t really care.
Todd: Hey, I think we’re really hitting it off. Can I get your number?
KD: No.
Todd: Fair enough. Thank you for your time Kevin.
Poor Todd. Forever scorned by Kevin Durant for asking the perfectly legitimate question of which Van Gundy is the sexier Van Gundy (the answer is always Stan by the way).
At least Dikembe Mutombo had fun with Todd the intern.
