In news filed under the “Is This Real Life” department, Saturday Night Live has announced that the upcoming November 1st episode will be hosted by none other than Chris Rock. And as if that weren’t enough incentive to tune in (Chris Rock is always more than enough incentive to tune in), the November 1st episode will also have Prince as the musical guest.
We’re so excited to welcome back @chrisrock and musical guest Prince (@3RDEYEGIRL) for our November 1 show! #SNL #SNL40

If it seems like it’s been forever since Rock has been on SNL, it’s because it has been. Following his run on the show, Rock has only hosted the show once and that was in 1996. Prince has only been on the show twice, once in 1981 and the other time in 2006. To get them both to return for the same show? That’s pretty amazing.
Also amazing: the tweet which Prince’s Twitter account posted today before SNL’s announcement. Whoever controls Prince’s Twitter handle deserves a raise for this. It’s not everyday that someone somehow validates the very existence of Grown Ups 2.
