Three young girls have died after a horrific mass stabbing at a Taylor Swift-themed dance event in the United Kingdom leaving the pop superstar “in shock” and “at a complete loss.”
Three young girls ages six, seven, and nine were killed when a knife-wielding teenager rampaged through a Taylor Swift-themed dance workshop on Monday morning in the United Kingdom, according to the New York Post.
Eight other children were injured – five of which remain in critical condition – along with two adults who also remain in critical condition.
After news of the attack spread, Taylor Swift took to social media to express her shock at the horrific tragedy.
“The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously and I’m just completely in shock,” Swift wrote on her Instagram story.
“The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families, and first responders. These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”
An unidentified 17-year-old man was taken into custody for questioning. Police have yet to share a motive for the seemingly senseless act of violence against the children.
