adidas christened the first day of the new year by unveiling three new Crazylight Boost 2.5 player exclusives for Andrew Wiggins on Friday.
Judging by how Wiggins’ PEs look, adidas is definitely off to a strong start this year.
Just getting started.

The red pair, dubbed the “Marita,” is inspired by Wiggins’ mother Marita Payne-Wiggins, who helped Canada win two silver medals in the 1984 Olympics.

According to The Source, the blue and black colorway with the silver streak running through it is called the “North Star,” a reference to Minnesota’s state motto and the Timberwolves’ team colors.
Lastly, the white and blue sneaker is the “Home Away From Home” edition of the shoe as it features an homage to Wiggins’ Canadian upbringing.
Designed in tribute to Wiggins’ journey from Canada to the NBA, adidas unveils the “Home Away From Home” edition of the Crazylight Boost 2.5. The shoe displays cascading maple leaves from the midsole to a clear outsole with green and blue accents as a nod to Wiggins’ Canadian roots and time in Minnesota.
The “Marita” is available now while the other two colorways are reportedly dropping some time in February.
Andrew Wiggins may not have his own signature shoe yet but these PEs will definitely do in the meantime. Each does a fairly decent job of telling a part of Wiggins’ story (a personalizing/branding move that is becoming increasingly important with selling sneakers) and that “North Star” colorway is nothing but fire.
