Well, this one threw us for a major loop. First, when we saw the title ‘Sausage Party,’ we figured it was something a little dirty. Secondly, for the first thirty seconds we thought we were watching a nice animated kids movie. And lastly, we heard the curse words and we just got more confused.
Apparently the movie is actually a R-rated ‘Toy Story’ type film and we have no clue if it will be a hit or not. According to Variety:
The hero of this story is a sausage named Frank (Seth Rogen) who is smitten by his neighborhood hot dog bun (Kristen Wiig). But after a supermarket accident displaces the two star-crossed lovers (and their foodie companions), “Sausage Party” turns into an R-rated trek home. The movie features Disney-worthy voice performances (if Mickey Mouse scrubbed their mouths out with soap) by Salma Hayek, James Franco, Jonah Hill and Edward Norton, who channels Woody Allen’s New York Jewish timbre to portray a bagel.
The cast is solid, and we are intrigued. “Sausage Party” is scheduled for a Aug. 12 release date.
