Derek Jeter managed to hold an unblemished reputation throughout his baseball career, but it looks like we can’t say the same for his golf game.
President Obama recalled a time last November when he, Jeter, and Las Vegas Sun owner Brian Greenspun went golfing. He accused Jeter and Greenspun of conspiring to hustle him.
“He and Derek Jeter stole money from me at Shadow Creek,” Obama said of Greenspun according to Politico. “It was clearly a set up, because when we got to the practice range, he was shanking balls everywhere. I said, ‘You play golf Derek?’ And he said, ‘I just started 2 weeks ago.’”
They gave Jeter 30 strokes, but of course, Obama ended up getting crushed.
“We had to take a picture of me handing Derek Jeter money at the end of the game,” he said. “Despite that, Brian is a great friend.”
Lesson learned: Derek Jeter cannot be trusted.
