Feeling brave? Or just confused?
We use sports for many things outside of just, you know, sports. They are a staple of culture, making them a bigger part of our lives than just throwing a ball or proving your strength. Scoring the point, never giving up, and other fun concepts of athletic competition interpret into studying hard, sticking to your diet, or writing that slam poetry for your mic time at the cafe.
Some interpretations, however, can be slightly confusing for those not in the know. Take, for example, #NationalShootYourShotDay, Twitter’s new trend that has people posting basketball pics and motivational speeches. If you’re unaware of things like “DMs” and what that means, however, you might not get what it’s all about. We promise, it’s not really about basketball (unless that’s her thing, in which case – luck you).
Hopefully, our deck below might give one or two clues as to what #NationalShootYourShotDay is all about. To those who do understand, however, we wish you good luck and may your aim be true, or something.
