This might be the first time Taylor Swift has ever been blamed for anything. The singer held back-to-back concerts on Monday and Tuesday at Nationals Park during the MLB All-Star Break and while it appeared the ballpark was ready to return to hosting baseball on Friday night, there were some unexpected issues.
During the Nationals-Dodgers game, banks of lights repeatedly went out between the fourth and six innings, with the umpires finally suspending the game during the sixth inning. It’s unclear what the problems can be attributed to, but Washington pitcher Max Scherzer and Los Angeles outfielder Joc Pederson have a theory:
Well who was the last one to use Nationals Park last? Taylor Swift.. I blame her for the power outs tonight. We now have #BadBlood

@taylorswift13 your concert used up all the electricity in DC..thanks for helping start the 2nd half with a bang

Don’t worry Swifties, we assume the pair were only joking and they weren’t taking ruthless shots at your beautifully perfect entertainer. And at least you have Bryce Harper defending her, suggesting the lights went out because of him:
My bad everybody..I knew I shouldn’t of used that blow dryer before the game! #shortage

The game will be resumed on Saturday afternoon before the team’s play the second game of the three-game series.
