How would Happy Gilmore fare in a PGA major championship? What about Shooter McGavin? Or could Chubbs Peterson come out of retirement and compete for the green jacket? Although those questions are extremely debatable and rather delectable, we will never receive a legitimate answer but instead curious musings over the uproarious potential of a Happy Gilmore-Bubba Watson or Shooter McGavin-Phil Mickelson showdown on the 18th green on Sunday.
As the 2016 PGA season rolls on and fans start looking toward The Masters, let’s look back at the Adam Sandler-led golf comedy that premiered over 19 years ago and consider which real life golfers (and one golf-related individual) could replace the legendary cast without diminishing the hilarious aura of the film.
