You can own one of the most odd, luxurious. over-the-top and plain bizarre pieces of property for only $100 million. Neverland Ranch, the former home of Michael Jackson, is up for sale and the seller is seeking a massive sum for the one-of-a-kind hunk of real estate.
The home does not come void of questionable storylines or intense controversy, as it was the scene of a police investigation into child molestation charges against the pop star in 2005. Jackson would be charged in the case, tried and eventually acquitted but the Neverland Ranch’s uncomfortable image remained engrained in millions of minds.
According to the Los Angeles Times, real estate and investment management firm Colony Capital purchased the home for only $22.5 million in 2009 after Jackson was in default on the loan. The firm renovated and cleaned up the ranch and hopes to hit that massive nine figure number.
